About the North Charles Research and Planning Group
NCRPG has a full-time faculty with years of experience in state substance abuse planning,
epidemiology, and treatment services.
General NCRPG activities include:
- Collecting existing knowledge on technical aspects of
substance abuse epidemiology and needs assessment.
- Investigating, testing, refining, and developing assessment methodologies where no
adequate technology exists.
- Producing needs assessment publications that incorporate new and existing methodologies.
- Establishing a library of scientific references on
epidemiology and needs assessment.
- Providing technical assistance through consultation, meetings and workshops to the states
in order to enhance their capabilities for needs assessment on a local level.
- Conducting analysis of social indicator data to assess interstate
differences in substance abuse treatment needs.
- Analyzing substance abuse indicator data at the
sub-state level.
